Clothes are an everyday necessity, and for many an important aspect of self-expression. Yet, the way clothes are made and used today is extremely wasteful and polluting. One garbage truck of textiles is wasted every second. How might we design a fashion system fit for the 21st century?

Project Manager, Make Fashion Circular Initiative, Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Laura is a Project Manager for the Make Fashion Circular Initiative and was involved in writing the report ‘A new textiles economy: Redesigning fashion’s future. Her previous projects include the report ‘Circular economy in India: Rethinking growth for long-term prosperity’ and managing the Foundation’s contribution to the EU co-funded project ResCoM (Resource Conservative Manufacturing).

Prior to joining the Foundation, Laura worked for Deloitte as a management consultant. Laura has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Master's in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London.

Francois Souchet

Lead, Make Fashion Circular Initiative, Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Francois leads the Make Fashion Circular Initiative, which brings together key industry stakeholders to create a circular economy for clothing. Francois joined the Foundation in 2016 as a project manager, to support the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Global Partners in exploring the value creation potential of the circular economy.

Prior to joining the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Francois was a management consultant with Accenture Strategy, where he worked on projects in Europe, North America and Asia. He has a background of Civil Engineering and a Master of Project Management from the University of Melbourne

James squirrelled his way into EMF HQ around 7 months ago, and so far no one has found him out. Despite having some strong opinions on things that most people don't care about, James focuses most of his professional efforts on engaging with the Foundations business network. Helping them to identify where they can best add impact to the different programmes and platforms that exists within the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Born on the Isle of Wight, James has just returned back after a 15 year hiatus, where he spent most of his time travelling the world for the Royal Navy.
